A few years ago, my family and I took the plunge (literally!) and became homeowners with a pool.

Fun? Yes.

Intimidating? Very yes.

Suddenly, I was staring at test strips (which you should NEVER use), a bunch of chemicals I had no idea what to do with, and a pump system that looked like it belonged on a spaceship.

Every Google search led to forums full of conflicting advice, every website tried to sell me products I didn't need, and the technical jargon made my head spin.

"Why does beginner pool care feel so unnecessarily complicated?!"

The chemistry fear factor. Information overload. The "green pool" panic. Mechanical maintenance.

...I'm not a pool technician. I'm simply a pool homeowner who has figured out what works.

Between working as a nurse, raising my family, and spending my free time in the garden, I quickly realized something:

I did NOT have time for confusing pool advice, complicated routines, or trial-and-error that cost hundreds of dollars.

So I decided to learn.

I studied pool chemistry.

I watched videos.

I read forums.

I filtered through all of the confusing material to educate myself on exactly what it takes (and is necessary) to maintain a clean, safe, sparkling pool.
